DISCLAIMER:

NONE OF MY SHOWS IN THIS LIST WILL MATCH MD5 / SHINID FILES POSTED AT ETREE!

I tag all my files and often times change file names to reflect etree standards. When tags are added, altered, MD5 files will error. Consequently I Delete ALL MD5 files from traded FLAC.

IF HAVING NUMBERS MATCH IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN MUSIC FOR YOU, PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT ME FOR TRADES. Thank you.

Nothing on this list is for sale!!!! These shows are available for trade ONLY!

I have Almost THREE Terabytes of FLAC that I've received through electronic trades / Hardrive swaps, that have not as of yet been added to the list!

Some shows I have on BOTH FLAC and CD. The # of FLAC listed equals the # of CDs. If a 0 is listed, then I ONLY have the FLAC copy. If WAV is listed, it was sent to me as a WAV file and has not yet been converted to FLAC.

I've been a live-Music taper since 1986, and currently use Neumann KM-140 microphones.

After taping with DAT since 1994, I switched to a Tascam DR-100mkII flash recorder in mid 2013.

I am in the process of converting all my DATs and CDs to FLAC. All the DATs have been transferred but will not be updated on the list until I am ready to convert them to FLAC. Some still need to be split into tracks with Audacity.

(My masters are listed in the notes column on the far right side.)

If You Are Not Interested In Keeping Track Of Audience Recording Details Please Do Not Bother Contacting Me.

My interests are rather varied, as you will see.

CDRs from my DATs have been burned with an HHB CDR 800 pro standalone recorder, from 1998 to 2013.

I am no longer able to transfer DAT recordings, as all of my machines have problems, but all my DATs have been transferred. There are a lot that need to be tracked and FLAC'd.

Soundboard and Audience recordings are graded on different criteria.

An A+ Audience Will Not Ever Match An A+ Soundboard; A Listing Of An A+ Rating Is Simply The Highest Grade In Its Respective Class.

Sound quality grading is subjective, (especially for older shows. For example, a recording from the 1970s will never match the sound quality possible with today's digital recording technology, and should be judged in accordance to the sound recording technology of the time.)

Sound Quality Ratings:

A+ Exceptional; usually reserved strictly for soundboards but I have also given this grade to some of my best FOB Digital Audience Masters, as well as other exceptional Front Of Board Audience recordings. A  Very Good. No flaws. (I don't consider minor polite applause Between songs on an audience recording to be a flaw.) A- Pretty good, but might have a few minor flaws; ie: less than ideal mic placement, some crowd noise on audience recordings, or other misc flaws, ie; slight hiss on soundboard recordings, or very slight distortion. B+ Good but not quite up to an A or A- rating. B More crowd noise, more distortion, or multi generation copies, etc.

Not Currently Trading With Anyone Out Of My Circle. But, if you're looking for something specific, hit me up and I can send via Wetransfer.com

Recorded By Alan Peterman Taken From The Website Of Alan Peterman: "These early recordings of Leo Kottke were done at a small, now defunct, coffehouse called "No Exit" located in the basement of the student union at Macalester College in St. Paul. The recording was done in early December, 1968 and I gave Leo a copy of the songs on cassette in 1996. The recording was done directly off the sound board mix, onto my Viking 433 reel to reel in mono. Microphones were an Electrovoice 644 on the guitar and a Turner 500 on the voice, if I remember right. I ran the sound board and the recorder, so I am responsible for the results... I believe Leo was playing a Guild 12 string and there were about 10 or 12 folks in the audience, including the 3 of us who were running the place. Bob Oswood was the manager, I was doing the sound and someone was at the food counter." Master Reel >WAV Transfer By Alan Peterman, NOT MP3 Sourced!!!! Lindley and Kottke are two of my favorite guitarists, and it must have been a real treat to see them both under the same roof! The applause between tracks sounds a little unnatural, as a result of the declicking. Dennis surmised that this was due to the fact that the applause spikes were severely clipped and the declicking left it sounding a little off. In its present form it’s still much more listenable than how it sounded previously. 1 FLAC

I'm a huge Kottke fan and couldn't wait to see him again. The Lobero is a beautiful theatre, originally built in 1876 and rebuilt in 1924. It has wonderful acoustics and I have recorded there for almost 27 years. My first time at the Lobero was when I recorded Doc Watson and David Grisman in 1998. That was back when I was using Nakamichi CM 300s. I was the 6th person or so through the doors when they opened at 7 pm, and when I walked into the men's room to set up, the room was pitch dark. I asked out loud, 'No lights?' and the one person standing in front of a urinal remarked, 'You gotta pee in the dark.' I was starting to wonder how I was going to set up my microphones in the stall in total darkness when, thankfully, the lights came on. I think this show was the most I've ever heard Leo sing. Usually he does mostly instrumentals. Leo told some interesting stories, including one that I had never heard before about a wind-up alarm clock that he once carried in a paper bag when he thought that he was 'crazy'. He started a song and then told a story about the traditional 'Ghost Light' that theaters use to ward away the spirits of past performers on the stage when the hall is empty. He looked to stage right and called out to a stage hand if they had a ghost light in the house, and the stage hand promptly brought it onstage. Too funny! The highlight of the set for me was hearing a blistering rendition of 'Jack Fig' segued into 'Vaseline Machine Gun' that really showcased his slide playing. Leo had a couple of musical mis-steps, but still not bad for a 79-year old guitar virtuoso who has been playing since the mid 1960s. FLAC
